Hi. It’s me again.

I’m here to tell you about a wonderful person that to me is still in my family. It’s my Great Grandma. We call her Nanny but her real name is Dorothy. She was a great person. The reason why I’m saying was is because at exactly 9:18 April 22nd she passed away. She was 79 years old. She would’ve been 80 on August 24Th.

I didn’t see her much this year because of getting sick and not being able to be around her. But when I did I always got excited. When I was a baby my Nanny and my Mom would take me out every day to the mall until I turned about 3 years old. Then we would go visit Nanny a lot. And also when I was younger she always watched movies with me. I know that it was a lot of fun. One of Nanny’s specialties that everyone will always remember her for was playing bingo. Me and my little brother always helped her do puzzles. And she would make tea and give us cookies when we came over to visit her. My little sister is only 2 and she didn’t get to spend a lot of time with Nanny. When we were at Nana’s she came over a lot and had some tea with us.

On April 11th 2009 she went to the Comox Hospital. She had fluid on her lungs and a tiny valve in her heart wasn’t working right, which was what was putting the fluid on her lungs. She got sent to the Victoria Hospital for a test that they couldn’t do because she had too much fluid on her lungs so she could not breathe when laying down. And then she was sent back to the Comox Hospital because they couldn’t help her. And at 8:00 PM my Nana and my Great Auntie Arlene went in to visit Nanny and they kept going to visit Nanny until the second she passed. She had no pain when she went. But the last hour that she spent was with her daughters. And the last picture was taken at 8:20. At 9:00 visiting hours were over so when Nana and Auntie Arlene were going to leave, Nanny asked them to stay a little bit longer and so they got her all tucked and ready for bed. As they were getting her tucked in she passed peacefully.

And I still feel like she standing right beside me like she never did go and I know she’ll always be in my heart and watching down on us all.
